The Spirit's Assurance: Living in the Light of God's Election

[00:00:08] The truth is, all the blessings God has prepared, his covenant with Jesus, his eternal election, remain distant and unreachable until the Holy Spirit awakens us from spiritual darkness. It is the Spirit who opens our eyes to see these gifts, who takes down the blessings hung on the cross and gives them personally to us. [00:00:28] Without the Spirit, the finished work of Christ is like wine sealed in a vat, unavailable and untouched. Yet when the Spirit fills our hearts, we drink deeply from the well of salvation, peace and joy. This inward work brings assurance we know we are loved with an everlasting love clothed in righteousness and kept by God's unchanging hand. Our prayers turn to praise as we experience the sweetness of communion with Jesus, who is our righteousness and sanctification. Though we may stumble, the Spirit empowers us to grow more like him, shaping us into his image.
